What is Tiny House & Simple Living Jamboree?

Tiny House & Simple Living Jamboree is the destination for enthusiasts, lifestyle advocates, industry professionals and those interested in the simple lifestyle – delivering and celebrating the best that simple living has to offer: mindful practices, eco-friendly products and services, and of course, one-of-a-kind tiny houses and tiny living structures. But it is more than just a festival. The Jamboree aims to raise awareness about the small-living movement, re-address how we look at housing, educate about the latest developments across the nation, and serve as a platform to discuss issues such as affordability and attainability in the housing market. Attending the Jamboree will leave you with unforgettable experiences, a sense of community, and the inspiration to take the leap towards a more intentional life.

Who is the organizer?

Reed Exhibitions and the Jamboree team have partnered to bring you the 2018 Tiny House & Simple Living Jamboree. Reed Exhibitions is the world’s largest events organizer, operating events such as New York Comic Con, the National Hardware Show, Star Wars Celebration, Penny Arcade Expo and more.

When is Tiny House & Simple Living Jamboree?

Tiny House & Simple Living Jamboree will be held August 23-26, 2018. August 23 and 24 are open to industry members. August 25 and 26 are open to the industry as well as the general public.

What are the hours of the show?

Industry Only

August 23: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Education and Tiny House Tours)
August 24: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Education) 12:30 PM – 6:00 PM (Show Floor)

Open to the Industry & General Public

August 25: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
August 26: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

How do I get a ticket?

Click here to get your tickets. If you are purchasing your tickets on or before the ticket mailing deadline of July 19, 2018 your tickets will be mailed via USPS to the address you enter. If you purchase your ticket after the ticket mailing deadline, you will have to wait in line at Will Call to pick up your tickets. We highly recommend purchasing in advance.

If tickets are still available during the show, you can purchase them onsite at the Registration Area at the Travis County Expo Center.

Who needs a ticket?

Children 12 and under will be admitted for free and no ticket is required. Please be prepared to show proof of age onsite.

Where can I pick up my ticket?

Attendees who purchased their tickets after the ticket mailing deadline can pick up their badges at our Registration Area in the Travis County Expo Center.

What's the refund policy?

Safety Policy

What are the security expectations at the Jamboree?

The safety and security of our staff, exhibitors and attendees is our priority. We work closely with the venue, corporate security, state, local and federal law enforcement authorities to identify risks, assess them and develop security plans for our events.

We have established a security room at our shows to ensure effective communication and response.


  • Security will be onsite at all times to assist you during all aspects of the Show
  • Everyone must wear their Show badge at all times. This includes exhibitors, vendors, attendees, guests (speakers, talent, artists), professionals, press, staff, and crew.
  • A fully operational security team following our vetted procedures is in place at the Show
  • Bag checks may occur at the Show
  • Walkthrough or hand held scanners may be used at the Show
  • Any CCTV in operation at the Show is monitored and recorded
  • Uniformed and undercover security may be in attendance at the Show
  • Uniformed and undercover Police may be in attendance at the Show
  • Canine Security and Detection may be used in or around the Show


  • Keep personal property with you at all times and do not leave any items unattended
  • If you see something, say something. Report anything that looks unusual, suspicious, or out of place to Show staff or security immediately
  • Remain patient and courteous during security checks and follow the instructions of Show staff and security at all times
  • Properly dispose of your Show badge inside the venue or keep it as a souvenir – please do not sell it to scalpers or throw it away in trash cans outside the venue where it could be picked up
  • Carry a valid form of photo ID at all times

What if I get hurt?

If you're hurt reach out to the Jamboree staff, crew or nearby security and we'll get you the help you need.

What if I'm harassed?

Harassment of any kind, including stalking, deliberate intimidation, unwelcome physical attention, physical assault and battery, will not be tolerated at Tiny House & Simple Living Jamboree. If it's illegal outside the convention center, it's illegal inside the convention center. Harassment is grounds for removal from the convention without refund as well as potential legal action. We want the Jamboree to be a safe, open and accepting environment for all in attendance, and if you find yourself victim of harassment at the convention please come immediately to the Jamboree’s show office or find a staff member.

Can I fly a drone?

Drones are not allowed inside the Travis County Expo Center or at the Jamboree.

Weapons and bag check

Pursuant to Section 30.06, Penal Code (trespass by license holder with a concealed handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (handgun licensing law), may not enter the event venue with a concealed handgun.

Pursuant to Section 30.07, Penal Code (trespass by license holder with an openly carried handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (handgun licensing law), may not enter the event venue with a handgun that is carried openly.

Management shall have sole discretion in any matter that it believes may affect public safety or be important to protect the integrity of the event.

Can you watch my kids?

Sorry, we do not provide child care services at this time.

What should I do if my child, friends, family or I get separated?

Find a Jamboree staff member or security guard and we will help you locate your missing party. We suggest that when you arrive at the Jamboree you and your party pick a location to meet in case anyone does get lost. In addition, on the back of the kids’ badges, you will find a place to fill out information in case your child gets lost.


Can I bring my pet?

If you have pets, please leave them at home. The Travis County Expo Center will not allow animals — except for service animals — into the building.

What's available for me if I have a medical condition and need extra assistance at the show?

Medical assistance is available to attendees who require it. To find out more about our medical assistance program and what it entails visit our medical assistance page .

Other Useful Information

Do I need to bring cash?

While some vendors might accept credit cards, many do not. We suggest stopping at an ATM before you arrive.

Can I take pictures and video?

For the most part, you're welcome to take still pictures and video at the Jamboree. Note that recording (including live-streaming apps) and flash photography are not permitted in panels and workshops. Also, please understand that Guests may or may not pose for photographs with attendees. Guests have a right to their privacy, and if they ask not to have their picture taken, please respect their wishes.

While in panels and workshops, please turn your cell phones off or to vibrate. If you must take or make a call, please step outside.

Will I Be On Camera?

Tiny House & Simple Living Jamboree will attract local, national and international press. In purchasing this badge and in consideration for being admitted to the Event, the holder consents to being recorded (by audio, visual and/or other means) for exhibition and exploitation by any means in all media now known or hereafter devised worldwide in perpetuity. Holder also hereby: (1) releases Reed Exhibitions from any liability for loss or damage to persons or property, infringement of any right or any other claim or course of action of any kind; (2) authorizes and permits Reed Exhibitions and its designees which include but are not limited to all sponsors, exhibitors and contractors to use and authorize the use of his/her name, voice, likeness and all reproductions thereof by any means and in all media now and hereafter know for all purposes worldwide in perpetuity; and (3) agrees to comply with all rules and regulations of the event. Holder agrees not to make any recordings of any kind at designated activities without the express written permission of Reed Exhibitions. We reserve the right to deny entry or remove from the Event facilities any person who in our sole and absolute discretion is behaving or threatening to behave in a manner which we reasonably consider to be disruptive of the Event.

How early should I get to a programming session?

Due to supply and demand and the limited number of seats available, unfortunately not everyone will get to see all the programming sessions. We recommend arriving at least 20 minutes prior to the start of the panel you want to see.

And Now a Word From Our Legal Team...

Tickets and/or badges (“Badges”) for the event (“Event”) are non-refundable and non-transferable and cannot be reproduced, resold or upgraded. The unauthorized resale or attempted resale of the Badge is prohibited and will constitute a forfeiture of the Badge without compensation. Each Badge must be used by the same person (the “Attendee”) for each day of the Event. The Event’s operating hours, schedules, guests and speakers are subject to change or cancellation without notice. Each Badge is a revocable license to attend the Event. All programming, autographing, photo ops, special events, show features and performances are subject to availability and access is not guaranteed and/or may require an additional fee. Reed Exhibitions is not responsible for lost or stolen Badges. The attendee acknowledges there are hazards and risks of physical injury or illness to Attendees of the Event and that not all such hazards or risks can be fully eliminated. By accepting this Badge (at time of purchase) and attending the Event, the Attendee freely and voluntarily agrees to assume the full risk of bodily injury or property damage, regardless of severity, or death that Attendee may sustain as a result of attending the Event, whether or not caused by the negligence or gross negligence of Reed Exhibitions.
