Jamboree to Include First Ever Trade Event for the Tiny Living Industry in Addition to Expansive Consumer Experience

NORWALK, Conn. (May 30, 2018) - Reed Exhibitions, the world’s leading event organizer, announced today that the Tiny House & Simple Living Jamboree will be held in Austin, Texas. This year’s event will include a first of its kind two-day trade event for industry and real estate professionals, complete with robust educational presentations from industry experts and the nation’s largest collection of commercially built living structures. The 2018 Tiny House & Simple Living Jamboree will be held at the Travis County Exposition Center from August 23 to August 26 with the weekend dates (August 24-26) being open to the public.

The Tiny House & Simple Living Jamboree will feature an indoor/outdoor show floor with a variety of over 60 small living structures under 800 sq. ft. Builders will showcase tiny houses on wheels, park models, school bus conversions, yurts, modular and manufactured homes. The indoor show floor will highlight all related products and services including construction materials, furniture and decor. A live build, in partnership with Operation Tiny Home, will also take place over the course of the weekend. The completed home will be donated to Austin’s Community First! Village, a master planned community that provides affordable, permanent housing and support for the disabled, chronically homeless in Central Texas.

The 2018 edition will also introduce the first industry specific trade event. With increasing acceptance at the state and local government levels and so many communities and buyers embracing the benefits of tiny homes, there is a need for increased education and a central networking event. The Jamboree will touch on key issues facing today’s housing market, such as affordability and attainability. Experts on construction, development, regulations and more will lead a day and a half of seminars.

“The timing is right for the expansion of the Jamboree to not only provide additional resources to our consumers but to also provide more education, insights and relationship building for the professionals in the industry,” said Jon Fontane, Tiny House & Simple Living Jamboree Event Director. “As the tiny living movement continues to grow, it is critical for the different components of the industry to come together – builders, product suppliers, real estate developers, and regulators.”

“In addition, Austin, Texas is one of the most progressive markets for tiny living and a city that needs more attainable and affordable housing. Two new tiny living developments are under way and it’s clear there are more to come as the city continues to grow.”

The event will feature many Austin based tiny living industry experts and vendors including:
